*Hot Desert Blooms*
This is an adorable cactus known as a Golden Ball Cactus, OR Barrel Cactus. It is so rotund and can be as large as 4' in diameter! They have vibrant yellow flowers that pop out of the top. I think they contrast nicely with the soft green of the cactus.
I created a special cane to create the spine ridges on the cactus. In the background you can see the beautiful colors of the desert, rust, ivory, grey, and caramel. Pure silver adds a subtle sparkle, evident in the rocks and horizon. The sky is a beautiful light turquoise with wispy clouds of white with pink edges. The cacti and rocks are in raised relief and appear on BOTH sides of the bead.
This bead has been softly acid etched to a matte finish.
