This is how I'm able to heat large rod to 38 mm without pre-heating with the rod stress pattern shown. This is a 4" pre-cut section of 1-1/4" for my large eagles. From start to finish, it takes less than 3 minutes to have it completely stress free and ready to work. This method save enormous amount of 02, gas and time. Also, pre-cuts also prevents production piece relatively close in size over time.
