Silver and Ivory Laced Nuggets and Rounds

When I was attending college at Montana University in Bozeman Montana there was little to do on the weekends for fun. My friends and I had to create our own fun. We would sneak into Yellowstone park at night to hike trails or jump into Gardner's hot pool. This hot pool is created by a boiling geothermal river from the park with a small waterfall that drops into the cold waters of the Gardiner River creating a hot pool. A person can sit with their back to the hot waterfall and feel cold water rush over their feet from the river. This gives a person a wonderful tingling sensation. We called our midnight swimming it the park "Hot Potting". This was best done in the winter during a full moon. The light of the moon would glow off of the snow and steam of the geysers creating the look of a mystical and exotic wonderland. Bill and I go back to Yellowstone every year and have a latte on the observation deck of the Old Faithful lodge as we watch the geysers and take in the awesome sites and sounds of Yellowstone. At 47 I don't hot pot at night anymore :-)

This bead set was inspired by the exotically beautiful land in Yellowstone Park.

I love the look of silver on black. I made these stunning beauties by first making a ribbon cane of ivory glass then placing it on a black base and adding silver to the edges of the ribbon cane.

Beautiful work and nice story. I really like it when people tell us what inspired them. I looked at your website and liked what I saw. I am a fellow glass geek.
